Following his performance at the MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday (August 28th), Lil Wayne plans to make his oft-delayed new album Tha Carter IV available at digital retailers at midnight. He seems very excited to implement this sales strategy as he feels his VMA performance will inspire people to buy the album on iTunes and Amazon before they can buy the physical CD the next day. So apparently Weezy is still putting together Tha Carter IV, which is supposed to be put out in late August, but doesn’t seem to like the production. In a recent sit down with XXL Magazine, Weezy spoke on the beats on his upcoming album, “These niggas’ beats been sucking. I’m putting it out there: you producing, what ya’ll doing? Get right, man. Step it up,” he said. ‘This is coming from a rapper. One of the best rappers. I ain’t saying I’m the best no more, because these niggas is too good these days. I got old. But damn, y’all niggas’ beats is terrible! [Chad Ochocinco walks into the room] These niggas’ beats sound like Ochocino made them.” Weezy is always having fun but we know him to be working hard, so I gotta side with Weezy on this one. 6’7 ain’t a banger but it’s good, Anne is ehh, and How To Love is just weird. Praying things go up from here.

After pushing the album up earlier this week, we finally get a hold of what the fourth installment of Wayne’s Carter series has in store. The highly anticipated Tha Carter IV finally has its tracklist. We’ve already heard the singles and they are ehhh, but now we get to be excited for a few Drizzy features, a Ye feature, a Jay feature, and a track with Bon Iver and Game. This helps keep my hopes up for this album, but August 22nd can’t come soon enough.
